The Arts in Mohave Valley Elementary School District received a check for $600 from the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce as its part of the funds raised through their Wine and Canvas Freedom of Expression event held last July at the Golden Nugget Laughlin.
Patrons of the arts were invited to a canvas painting party where they were guided through the painting process. Proceeds of tickets, as well as those paintings auctioned off from the various General Managers in Laughlin benefited the local schools' art programs in our area.
"The arts are so important to our kids, as it allows them another means of self-expression" noted Jackie Mazzeo, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. "We hope that these donations will only increase as we continue the program throughout the years".
Mark your calendars for next year's event, slated for July 26, 2018, and watch for details to be sent out via the district's social media, as well as through regular media outlets from the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce.
